DA reminds suppliers not to violate food pass rules

Regional executive director Remelyn R. Recoter of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Western Visayas emphasized that local suppliers, truckers and logistic entities to use food pass appropriately.

Since some of the suppliers with issued DA Food Pass have allowed other passengers to ride in their vehicles, the Western Visayas Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) came up with Resolution No. 9 which aims to harmonize the guidelines on the issuance of identification and car passes, Recoter said.

Agricultural food suppliers need to submit additional documents to DA offices in order to obtain IATF car pass and ID cards.

They should submit a certification citing that the driver and the two other helpers are authorized employees and passengers assigned in a particular vehicle, and also copies of the driver’s license and identification (ID) cards.

The agency has been issuing food pass and food lane pass cards to enable smooth and unhampered movement of cargoes containing agri-fishery products and inputs. As of March 28, DA had already issued 3,556 food pass accreditation cards regionwide.

DA Regional Field Office and APCO offices in the different provinces in Western Visayas are open from Mondays to Sundays for the issuance of food pass, IATF car pass, and ID cards. (Sheila Mae H. Toreno/DA-RAFIS 6)
