CWVS conducts seminars on gender and history at Northern Iloilo State University

The Center for West Visayan Studies (CWVS) collaborated with the Office of Gender and Development (OGAD) of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) – Main Campus in conducting seminar workshops on gender and history topics this December.

CWVS University Research Associates Darlene Joy Calsado and Sashah Dioso served as resource persons during the Gender-Sensitivity Training for Students at the NISU Research and Extension Hall, Estancia, Iloilo, on December 9, 2022.

Dioso also served as the resource person on the topic, “Gender Sensitive Approach to Research in Local History and Culture.”

Both Calsado and Dioso are members of the GAD Focal Point System of UPV Visayas and have presented papers on gender in aquaculture and fisheries at local and international conferences.

Calsado was the country research lead on COVID-19 gendered risks, impact & response in the Indo-Pacific with Griffith University, Australia, while Dioso teaches Gender and History subjects at UPV as a lecturer. (CWVS)
