The Creamline Cool Smashers made quick work of the Choco Mucho Flying Titans after sweeping them in three-straight sets, 25-18, 25-13, 25-14, during the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference last February 14, 2023, held at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

After crushing the Petro Gazz Angels last week, the Cool Smashers pulled off a more efficient outing after limiting the Flying Titans to below 20 points in all three sets.

Veteran setter Jia De Guzman showed the young guns what experience brings to the table after orchestrating the Creamline offense to perfection, dishing out 25 excellent sets to get everyone involved in the scoring department.

De Guzman’s tremendous playmaking helped Michelle Gumabao, Jema Galanza, and Ced Domingo reach the 15-point mark that capped off another volleyball masterpiece.

“Syempre masaya kami. Sana magtuluy-tuloy pa yung improvements kasi medyo maganda yung service receive namin. I think magi-improve pa, pero satisfied naman kami sa game ngayon. Mahaba pa naman yung conference so yun yung ime-maintain namin,” said Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses.

It was all Creamline from the get-go after the duo of Gumabao and Galanza quickly got their offensive rhythm which resulted in an immediate momentum shift midway through the first period.

Aside from their crisp attacking, the Cool Smashers also anchored their middle blocking as Jeanette Panaga led the charge backstopped by the young and towering Domingo.

The Flying Titans started well in the third and final set but a personal scoring run from Galanza proved to be enough to re-capture their fast pace just like the first two sets.

Kat Tolentino and Des Cheng were the only consistent performers for the Flying Titans after combining for 16 points despite the tight Creamline defense.

The Cool Smashers will be looking to extend their undefeated run on February 18, 2023, as they take on the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.

Meanwhile, the Flying Titans will seek to regroup and break their slump against the Black Mamba-Army on February 23, 2023.
