BACOLOD City – Police arrested a young couple and three others in separate buy-bust operations that led to the confiscation of P567,868 worth of suspected shabu in Negros Occidental last Wednesday.

In San Carlos City, Herfrance Tuhao, 21, of Barangay Rizal, and his 16-year-old girlfriend were apprehended at Barangay Palampas.

Police seized from the couple 63.51 grams of suspected shabu worth P431,868, and the P1,000 marked money.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jesus Mesahon, San Carlos City police chief, said Tuhao was placed under monitoring for more than a week as part of their follow-up operation in a P1.4-million drug haul last month.

Mesahon said Mark John Quijano, who allegedly yielded P1.4 million worth of suspected shabu in the city on Feb. 20, and Tuhao reportedly knew each other.

The recovered illegal drugs from the couple were already repacked, and are believed to be part of Tuhao’s alleged shabu stock.

Mesahon said they will check the background of Tuhao who reportedly faced a previous drug case.

Tuhao will be charged for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs, while the minor will be facing charges for conspiracy, according to Mesahon.
