BACOLOD City – A couple was arrested Sunday in a buy-bust at Purok Tugas, Barangay Taclobo, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental where P2,040,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized.

Police Major Wilfredo Alarcon Jr., head of Provincial Intelligence Branch of Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo), identified the suspects as Chira Joy Libradilla, 29, of Barangay Tinago; and her partner Kentford Cabriana, 19, of Barangay Bajumpandan.

Authorities recovered from the couple 26 sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 300 grams placed inside a bag, the P15,000 marked money, digital weighing scale, lighter, several empty plastic sachets, and a motorcycle.

Alarcon said Libradilla is a high value target in Central Visayas and was included in the drugs list of the PNP Directorate for Intelligence (DI) while Cabriana is a newly-identified drug personality.

But because of the recovered big volume of drugs and his conspiracy with Libradilla, Cabriana can also be considered a regional level high value target, Alarcon said.

Alarcon said the couple allegedly supplies illegal drugs to street level targets and other drug personalities in the city.

“They were the next down in line of illegal drugs after the arrest of a regional level high value target last week,” he added.

On Oct 28, Denaquiel Aran Ciano, 42, was arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Siapo, San Jose town for possessing 1.5 kilograms of suspected shabu worth P10.2 million.

Alarcon said the couple will be charged for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs. Both suspects are detained at Dumaguete City Police Station.
