Couple falls in drug bust, P550-K in ‘shabu’ seized

BACOLOD City – A couple was arrested in a buy-bust operation at Purok Kawayan, Barangay Banago here yesterday, following the confiscation of 81 grams of suspected shabu worth P550,800 from their possession.

Police identified the subjects as Rodmar Abada, 37, and his live-in partner Aunice Latuna, 28, both residents of the said village.

Police Lieutenant Joven Mogato, head of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said the couple was considered high value individuals, and was reportedly engaging in the illegal drug trade for a few months now.

Mogato said that Abada was arrested for a drug offense in April 2021 and was released from detention in January 2022 through plea bargain. He is under probation, Mogato added.

As to the source of the illegal drugs, Mogato said the couple was reportedly getting the contraband from their two suppliers here.

“Daw gina bulos-bulos lang nila, daw gina rolling lang nila kung makaguluginansya sila,” he added.

Police also recovered from them the P1,000 marked money, and P250.

Both are detained at Police Station 3.
