Cops seize P2.5M worth of ‘shabu’ in 2 weeks

BACOLOD City – More or less P2.5 million worth of suspected shabu were seized and 98 persons were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Negros island from February 26 to March 9.

Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated P752,300 worth of suspected shabu while P849,460 worth of the same contraband was recovered by authorities in Negros Occidental, and P927,520 worth of the same drugs was seized in Negros Oriental.

For the arrested persons, 35 individuals were collared here while 44 were apprehended in the province, and 19 were arrested in the oriental side.

The Bacolod police conducted their operations at Barangays 8, 10, 27, 35, Handumanan, Banago, Vista Alegre, Sum-ag, Mansilingan, and Singcang-Airport.

Anti-drug operatives here were from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), and Police Stations 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, and 10.

For Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), drug raids took place in the cities of San Carlos, Himamaylan, Victorias, Talisay, Silay, Escalante, Bago, Cadiz, La Carlota, and Sagay; and the towns of Cauayan, Pontevedra, Manapla, Hinoba-an, Calatrava, and Candoni.

For Negros Oriental, drug busts were held in the cities of Canlaon and Dumaguete, and towns of Amlan and Siaton.
