A CONSTRUCTION worker was arrested for allegedly selling illegal drugs early evening of June 1, 2019 in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

Florentino Ramacho, 41, who hails from Bago City, Negros Occidental, is facing charges for selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth P3,500 to a police poseur buyer.

Members of Mandurriao Police Station arrested Ramacho at Barangay Taft North.

Three more sachets of suspected shabu were taken from his possession.

Ramacho was reportedly working at the Makati Development Corporation (MDC), a company with projects in Mandurriao district.

The suspect, who was temporarily residing at Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao, which is just near his workplace, told police operatives that his shabu supply came from Bago City.

“When he goes home, he allegedly sourced shabu from his hometown. That’s for his personal consumption and he repacked some and sold it to his fellow workers,” said Police Major Marlon Valencia, Mandurriao police chief.

Meanwhile, Valencia said he is set to talk to the foremen and supervisors of construction companies on how to promote a drug-free workplace.

He noted that several drug-related arrests were already made against construction workers in Iloilo City.
