ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A construction worker was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation by the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Roxas City Component Police Station Sunday evening at Barangay 9 here.
Daniel Dela Cruz Buenavista, 44, of Barangay Milibili here did not resist when the police operatives collared him after handing over a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover cop.
The police also recovered from Buenavista a .38-caliber revolver, a cellphone, 5 more sachets of suspected shabu with a street value of P20,400, and drug paraphernalia.
Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect who is detained at the Roxas City police station.
Meanwhile, a 23-year-old roulette (peryahan) worker was arrested in another drug bust operation at Poblacion President Roxas, Capiz also on Sunday evening.
Police identified the suspect as Eugene Himor of Brgy. VII, Roxas City.
Recovered from Himor were 4 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 2 grams; P13,600 cash, and 3 lighters.
The suspect was jailed on May 13, 2021 for carnapping raps but he was released a few months ago.
Himor is now in the custody of Pres. Roxas police.
