Construction worker falls in P170K drug sting

A young construction worker is behind bars after he was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation late evening of June 10, 2022 in Molo, Iloilo City.

Police identified the suspect as Kantz Jalbuna, 21, a resident of Barangay Ungka 1, Pavia, Iloilo.

Jalbuna earlier identified himself as a certain Hanz Guelos Jalandoni.

Members of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU)-6 and the Iloilo City Police Station 4 conducted the buy-bust operation 10:55 p.m. of June 10 at Locsin Street, Barangay Katilingban, Molo.

Jalbuna allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P8,000. When frisked, he yielded 16 more sachets of suspected shabu, the P8,000 buy bust money, cash of P250, and several non-drug items.

Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anthony Darroca, RPDEU-6 chief, said that the seized illegal drugs is worth 25 grams with standard drug price worth P170,000.

Darroca said the suspect had been subjected to a one-month surveillance prior to his arrest.

The suspect had also squealed his source during questioning.

Jalbuna would be charged for concealing his true name and violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
