Commercial sex worker found dead

BACOLOD City – Police are investigating the death of a commercial sex worker who was found on the roadside of Purok Progreso, Barangay Alijis here early Thursday.

The name of the 26-year-old victim was withheld.

Police Captain Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 7, said they received a call from roving guards in the area that a woman was found lifeless around 5:30 a.m.

Bonilla said the victim suffered head injuries and had scratches on her neck.

Police believed that the victim may have been hit by a hard object, and was left in the area.

Bonilla said the victim was last seen alive on Wednesday night.

She was reportedly picked up by a white car from Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Barangay Singcang-Airport here around 10:30 p.m., according to her live-in partner, the station commander added.

Bonilla said they are waiting for the decision of the family if they will allow the conduct of an autopsy on the victim to determine the cause of her death and other injuries.

Bonilla said they have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
