BACOLOD CITY – The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) – Bacolod is investigating two more villages here for alleged irregularities on the distribution of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
Police Chief Master Sergeant Ramiro Gocotano, CIDG-Bacolod head, refused to name the barangays in the meantime while they validate the complaints.
Gocotano told Daily Guardian that they received several complaints against some barangay officials last week.
“We are conducting in-depth investigation to verify the complaints we received,” he said.
Earlier, the CIDG already filed charges against Felisa village chief Ramon Jardin and three others after they were accused by some residents of conspiracy for allegedly collecting P4,000 from their P6,000 SAP allowances on April 22, an allegation which Jardin already denied.
A qualified household affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic may receive P6,000 SAP allowance as cash aid from the national government.
Barangay Felisa was among the six villages here initially being investigated by the CIDG for alleged SAP anomalies.
Meanwhile, Gocotano said that they are preparing the filing of charges against barangay officials in a village here and another village in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental in relation to the irregularities on SAP distribution.
