ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The management of Vallacar Transit, Inc (VTI), operator of Ceres bus liner, suspended its bus driver and conductor who refused to stop for a brief checkpoint Sunday at the boundary of barangays Aglalana in Dumarao, Capiz and Aglalana in Passi City, Iloilo.

This was confirmed by Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Head Judy Grace Pelaez to the media.

Health workers tried to stop the Ceres bus with body number 6639 for routine check of the passengers but to no avail.

Pelaez said that she immediately informed the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force (PIATF) about the incident.

They could not ascertain the reason of the bus driver and conductor in evading the checkpoint.

She immediately informed the Roxas City Police Station to monitor the arrival of the Ceres bus at the Roxas City Integrated Transport Terminal (RCITT).

Pelaez sent a letter to the VTI management and asked the latter to submit within 24 hours the names of the driver and the conductor and to explain the incident.

Pelaez urged the drivers of utility vehicles and passengers to respect and abide by the border checkpoint and health protocols.
