CDEU seizes P780K worth of ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) continues to hunt down drug personalities, with the recent apprehension of a high value target in a buy-bust at Barangay 1 here Sunday morning.

CDEU operatives led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Leonardo Borromeo conducted the operation against Ronald Ibañez around 6:30 a.m.

Police confiscated from Ibañez 13 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 52 grams worth P780,000, and the P1,000 marked money.

Ibañez is detained at Police Station 2.

In the past weeks, CDEU has seized more than P16 million worth of suspected shabu since September 1 this year.

This is also part of their intensified security measures to prevent entry of contrabands since MassKara Festival is approaching.

Last Saturday, six persons were also arrested in a drug bust after police raided an alleged drug den at Barangay 20 here.

Police identified the target subject as El Cid Agsam, 35, of the said village.

Also arrested were Arnel Arcolas, 53, and Ryan Benedicto, 40, both residents of Barangay Villamonte; Daryl Selobo, 39, of Barangay Mandalagan, Erwen Agsam, 51, of Barangay 20, and James Gabales, 22, of Barangay Sum-ag.

Recovered from them were 10 sachets of suspected shabu worth P30,000, two improvised tooter, weighing scale, and the P300 marked money.

All six suspects are detained at Police Station 9.

Also arrested that day at Barangay Villamonte here was Von Lester Acomdata, and nine others after police allegedly caught them holding a “pot session” inside a convenience store.

Police seized from them suspected dried marijuana leaves weighing 2.7 grams worth P891.
