CARD, Inc.’s konek2CARD Plus now available for clients

In line with CARD MRI’s mission of promoting financial inclusion in the country, CARD, Inc. (A Microfinance NGO) launched its “konek2CARD Plus”, the latest addition to CARD MRI’s mobile banking applications, last September 2021.

konek2CARD Plus or kPlus is now available for CARD, Inc. clients in the different regions of the country. Areas in Luzon such as Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela City (CAMANAVA), Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, and the National Capital Region (NCR) now have access to the application. For Visayas, areas in Cebu are now using kPlus for their financial transactions. North Cotabato clients have also started using kPlus in Mindanao.

Like konek2CARD, kPlus brings CARD, Inc.’s financial transactions at the palm of their clients’ hands. Clients can now view, pay, and manage their loans via the application. Clients can also process their transactions with the kPlus Agents found within their communities. Additional features such as e-load and bills payment are also found in the application.

With the new layout of icons on the dashboard, users of kPlus can easily find the features they are looking for. Besides the new look, better systems are used to make the user experience as convenient as possible.

Road to Financial Inclusion

“Currently, we are still transitioning from our manual system to our digital one, as we push our goal of reaching more than 90% of kPlus usership in our 15 pilot areas before the year ends,” said CARD, Inc. Executive Director Vicente P. Briones, Jr. on kPlus’ usership. “Since our soft launch in September, our usership is almost at 50%. With the feedback and warm welcome of our members, CARD, Inc. sees our end goal nearing its completion.”

CARD MRI Managing Director Aristeo A. Dequito weighs in on the immediate acceptance of CARD, Inc.’s clients on kPlus. “The response of our clients on the soft launch of kPlus shows us that we are on the right track in moving forward as the people’s ally in poverty eradication. With the help of our earnest staff on assisting our clients and loan products to help them acquire smartphones, we exhibit our willingness to bring everyone on board our financial inclusivity dream goal,” he said.

CARD MRI’s SuperApp

Even in its early stages, CARD, Inc. plans to give kPlus a wider audience. “The application was designed with CARD MRI’s clients in mind. After undergoing the proper procedure and preparation, we hope to upgrade the konek2CARD Plus to konek2CARD SuperApp,” Briones said on CARD, Inc.’s hopes for the application.

In the future, the konek2CARD SuperApp will become CARD MRI’s flagship mobile banking application. Clients from CARD MRI’s financial institutions, including CARD, Inc. (A Microfinance NGO), CARD Bank, CARD SME Bank, and CARD MRI RIZAL BANK, can use the SuperApp, putting all of CARD MRI’s mobile banking applications into one. Through konek2CARD SuperApp, clients can now have inter-bank transactions and can also transact with any konek2CARD Agent within their community.

CARD MRI Founder and Chairman Emeritus Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip looks forward to the developments of kPlus. “With konek2CARD Plus, CARD MRI moves a step closer to providing convenient banking transactions for our clients. This is also in support of the financial inclusion goal of the government, particularly of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, so that we can reach the poorest of the poor sectors. With our innovations, digitization, and passion for our goal of poverty eradication, we are ahead in our journey of helping Filipinos have better lives,” said Dr. Alip.

Besides konek2CARD Plus, CARD Inc.’s digital innovation has reached Facebook through CARLA (CARD Loan Application), a chatbot where clients can apply for loans and check their loan information via Facebook Messenger.
