CARD, Inc. named MCPI’s 2018 Outstanding Member

THE Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI) recognized Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD), Inc. (A microfinance NGO) for being an outstanding member during the 2019 MCPI Annual Summit at Manila Prince Hotel on July 24, 2019.

MCPI is the national network of microfinance institutions registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since 1999 that work towards sustainable, innovative and client-responsive solutions to poverty in the country.

Among its network of 59 institutions, including 46 practitioners, 2 regional councils and 11 support institutions, it recognized CARD, Inc. as an outstanding member for it continuous mission in eradicating poverty in the country by providing financial services and community development programs.

“For the past years, CARD, Inc., is consistent in doing its mission of serving Filipinos nationwide,” said Fr. Jose Victor Lobrigo, MCPI Chairperson.

The award was received by Marilyn Manila, one of the executives of CARD MRI.

“We are grateful to be receiving this recognition from MCPI. Truly, we are inspired to continue to provide the best services we can offer to our clients,” said Manila.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, MCPI also recognized CARD, Inc. as one of its founding members whose roles were pivotal in building a world-class national MFI network.

“It is a humbling experience to be one of the institutions who has been with MCPI since the beginning of their journey. CARD, Inc. is looking forward to more years of creating positive change for the Filipinos together with the network,” said CARD, Inc. Executive Director Jocelyn Dequito.

Dequito also shared that CARD, Inc. will sit at the MCPI Board for another year together with Kabalikat para sa Maunlad na Buhay, Inc. (KMBI), Alalay sa Kaunlaran, Inc. (ASKI), SEDP-Simbag sa Pag-asenso, Inc., RAFI Micro-finance, Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation, Inc. (NWTF), Taytay sa Kauswagan, Inc. (TSKI), ASA Philippines Foundation, and Community Economic Ventures, Inc. (CEVI).

CARD, Inc. (A microfinance NGO) is a member institution of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI) that is in the business for poverty eradication for 32 years. As of May 2019, CARD Inc., has more than 1.8 million clients with a total of 1,725 offices nationwide.
