A Facebook post by his girlfriend has finally led police authorities to arrest a fugitive of more than a decade.

Peter Delfin, 44, a construction worker, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. on Nov 1, 2022 at Barangay Gaya-Gaya, San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan.

Members of Cuartero Municipal Police Station, the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) CTG and Wanted Person Tracker Team, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Bulacan Provincial Field Unit apprehended the suspect by virtue of an alias warrant of arrest for murder docketed as Criminal Case No. 128-09.

Judge Esperanza Isabel E. Poco-Deslate of the Regional Trial Court Branch 19 in Roxas City, Capiz issued the arrest warrant on Jan. 11, 2010.

No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

Delfin, whose last known address was Barangay Centro, Dao, Capiz, is one of the most wanted persons in Cuartero, Capiz.

Captain Christian Mahometano, Cuartero police chief, said the suspect went into hiding after killing the son of a former barangay captain of Balingasag village in Cuartero.

Recently, there was information about his whereabouts in Luzon.

Mahometano said intelligence operatives have been tracking him down but a Facebook post of his girlfriend finally gave way to his exact location.

Delfin is now in the custody of CIDG Bulacan.
