Capiz is nCoV-free, says PHO

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The province of Capiz is free of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (n-CoV), thus, the public should not worry.

This was the statement of Provincial Health Officer I Dr. Leah del Rosario of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) Capiz.

According to del Rosario, there is no suspected n-CoV case in the province even as she appealed to the public not to panic and stop spreading fake news.

She said the PHO is doing everything to ensure appropriate preparedness and response mechanism for effective and efficient management of nCoV.

“We appeal to the public to refrain posting, sending and sharing unverified information or fake news through social media platforms and short messages,” del Rosario said.

To prevent contact of NcoV, the PHO reminds the public to follow WUHAN: Wash hands, Use masks, Have your temperature checked daily, Avoid crowded places and Never touch your face with your unclean hands.

Meanwhile, City Health Officer head Dr. Lory Cahilog said they are planning to buy thermal guns that will be used in the airport and seaport to check passengers who arrive in Roxas City.

Cahilog said the gadget is vital in detecting passengers with fever.

Aside from this, the health office also plans to buy Personal Protective Equipment to be used by health workers.
