Capiz Field Office overshoots SEnA target

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 6’s Capiz Field Office (CFO) exceeded its target for the first semester implementation in the Single Entry Approach (SEnA) Program after assisting 121 workers who received a total Php1,985,040.15 as payment or settlement of their money claims.

The CFO settled 96 of 112 Requests for Assistance (RFAs) representing an 85.71% settlement rate which is higher than the 70% office target for the first and second quarter of the current year.

The high accomplishment rate reflects the Capiz Field Office’s commitment to provide an efficient assistance in resolving the claims of the workers within the 30-day conciliation-mediation period.

Most of the requests filed were on claims for non-payment/underpayment of wages, claims for the workers’ last pay/separation pay and illegal dismissal.

Most establishments that resorted to retrenchment or closing of operation due to the pandemic failed to afford the workers the due process mandated by law.

The high settlement rate came about due to the efforts of OIC-Provincial Head Amalia N. Judicpa who settled the most difficult requests that were elevated to her office.

The CFO responded to the call of Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez, Jr. to implement social justice and the humanization of the law. RD Rodriguez consistently pushes for the workers’ protection and provision of timely assistance to the workers’ requests.

SEnA is an administrative approach to provide a speedy, impartial, inexpensive, and accessible settlement procedure of all labor issues or conflicts to prevent them from ripening into full-blown disputes or actual labor cases.
