Capiceña OFW in estafa case nabbed

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A Capiceña Overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was recently collared by police at her house in Brgy. Tabuc Norte, Panit-an, Capiz for an estafa case.

Jocelyn Bonita, 49, did not resist when the Panit-an MPS led by Major Larnel Frial served the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Raul Fantilaga Facon of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 4 in Iloilo City on May 25, 2022.

The court recommended a P30,000 bail for her temporary liberty. She is presently detained at Panitan police station for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, a 40-year-old Capiceño facing two counts of child abuse was arrested in Brgy. Tandang Sora, Quezon City, Metro Manila.

Jumer Bolante of Brgy. Natividad, Pilar, Capiz and temporarily residing in Bistekville 15, Brgy. Sauyo, Novaliches, Quezon City was collared by Novaliches Police Station led by Lt. Colonel Von June Nuyda, together with the Pilar police.

The warrant for Bolante’s arrest was issued by Judge Faustino Valenzuela Roxas Jr., of RTC Branch 14 in Roxas City for violation of Republic Act 9262 or Violence Against Women and Children Act.

A bail of P72,000 and P36,000 for the two charges have been recommended by the court for his temporary liberty.

The suspect is presently in the custody of Novaliches Police Station 4, Quirino Highway, Novaliches, Quezon City.
