After being slapped by the PBA with an indefinite suspension, Calvin Abueva released his first public apology through his Instagram account.

“Ako po ay humihingi ng paumanhin sa mga nagawa ko po ditto sa PBA. Pasensya na rin po kay PBA commissioner Willie Marcial, sa lahat ng team governors, sa TNT, sa buong Phoenix Fuel Masters, sa kay Bobby Ray Parks at sa buong fans ng PBA.” Abueva said in his IG video.

After getting involved in a verbal tussle with Parks’ girlfriend and clotheslining TNT import Terrence Jones, Abueva’s actions left the PBA body with no other choice but to suspend him.

A month after the effectivity of the suspension, photos circulated on social media depicting Abueva as having participated and suited up for a team in a “ligang labas,” a rule strictly prohibited in the PBA.

Abueva then tried to patch things up, by personally talking to PBA commissioner Marcial, and agreeing to do community service and more.

Months after, the PBA allowed him to participate in the Phoenix practices and was also allowed to join road tours for the PBA.

Abueva joining the team is definitely a positive sign that his suspension may finally be lifted.
