Call center agent, e-bike driver killed in road mishaps

BACOLOD City – Two persons were killed in separate road accidents here on Feb. 22 and 23, 2023.

The latest incident was reported in Barangay Estefania yesterday, wherein e-bike driver Romulo Durable, 61, of Barangay 28 here, died after he was hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Police Captain Greeky Cayao, head of Police Station 4, said the victim allegedly suddenly overlapped into the lane of the SUV, causing a collision.

Cayao said the victim died on the spot, while the SUV driver was released from police custody, following a settlement.

Meanwhile, a call center agent also died after she was hit by a motorcycle in Barangay Singcang-Airport here on Wednesday night.

The victim was identified as Erlynor Colango, 28, of Talisay City, Negros Occidental

Police Captain Glenn Montaño, head of Police Station 8, said that Colango was crossing the street on a pedestrian lane when she was hit by an alleged speeding motorcycle driven by another call center agent.

Both of them were on their way to work when the accident happened.

Colango was taken to a hospital but she was declared dead on arrival.

Montaño said the motorcycle driver was released from detention after both parties reached an initial settlement.
