The most wanted person in Cagayan Valley region was arrested at his parent’s place in Pontevedra, Capiz evening of Jan 10, 2023.
John Christian Tiglao, 30, of Barangay Bailan, Pontevedra, was accused of rape in Tuguegarao City.
Members of Pontevedra Municipal Police Station together with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Detective and Special Operations Unit (CIDG-DSOU), Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) 6; Capiz Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit; PIU-Capiz, 1st Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company (CPMFC), Tuguegarao City Police Station, RIU 2 and Highway Patrol Group-Capiz, carried out the operation against Tiglao.
He was arrested by virtue of an arrest for several counts of rape docketed in Criminal Case Numbers 24018, 24019 and 24020.
Judge Jezarene Calañgan Aquino of the 2nd Judicial Region Branch 10 in Tuguegarao City issued the warrant on Nov. 16, 2022.
No bail was set for his temporary liberty.
Major Cyril Punzalan, Pontevedra police chief, said they monitored Tiglao in the area around the 3rd of December, or around a month after his arrest warrant was issued.
He was accused by his wife’s kin of rape.
But Tiglao allegedly claimed that he and the complainant had an illicit relationship that was consensual.
Tiglao is now in the custody of Pontevedra PNP and will be presented to the Tuguegarao City court.
