BSP holds regional macroeconomic conference for South Luzon

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) continued to strengthen its collaboration with regional partners and stakeholders through the Regional Macroeconomic Conference Series (RMCS) for South Luzon on 18 January 2023.

Held online, the presentations discussed recent developments in the economy and the general banking system with a focus on South Luzon.

BSP Governor Felipe Medalla, in his keynote message told regional stakeholders: “Your inputs help guide the BSP’s policy-making since you have first-hand knowledge and experience of what is happening on the ground. This synergy that we seek to reinforce is the essence of RMCS – to equip the central bank and its regional partners and stakeholders with the right tools to make better decisions and more targeted actions for the benefit of all Filipinos.”

The Governor was joined by Monetary Board Members Antonio S. Abacan, Jr., V. Bruce J. Tolentino (not in photo), Anita Linda R. Aquino, and Eli M. Remolona; BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat; and BSP Director Eloisa T. Glindro.  The resource persons for the conference were Acting Director Roselle R. Manalo of the BSP Department of Economic Research and Director Maria Cynthia M. Sison of the BSP Supervisory Policy and Research Department.

The South Luzon leg of the RMCS is the fourth in the conference series building on previous sessions held virtually in Central Visayas in September 2021, Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN regions in February 2022, and North and Central Luzon in August 2022.
