BACOLOD City – A three-year-old boy died after he drowned in a pail inside their house in Barangay Granada here last Thursday.

Police withheld the name of the victim upon the request of the family.

Police Captain Francis Depasucat, head of Police Station 5, said the victim was left under the care of his father at home that day. However, due to exhaustion from work, his father fell asleep.

When his father woke up, he searched for his son until he found him inside a pail in their comfort room.

Depasucat said the father rushed his son to a hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.

Depasucat said the toddler was believed to be inside the pail for about two hours.

He said the baby’s mother was not at home when the incident happened, while his sibling was in school.
