Blue guard nabbed for selling shabu

A SECURITY guard was arrested in a police anti-illegal drugs operation morning of Sept. 28, 2018 at Barangay Poblacion West, Oton, Iloilo.

Police identified the suspect as Jerrick Resuma, 27, Barangay Palaca, Miag-ao town.

Members of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) and Oton Police Station arrested the suspect after selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P500.

When frisked, Resuma yielded 10 more sachets of suspected shabu, P540 cash, a pouch, and a mobile phone,

Police Major Gervinson Moyo, Oton police chief, said the suspect was detailed at a Western Union Branch in Guimaras province.

It was believed that the suspect had been selling illegal drugs for about a year already.

A source from Bacolod City supplied drugs to Resuma who distributed the items to Oton town and neighboring areas.

A check with Miag-ao Police Station revealed that he was not on the local police’s watchlist of illegal drug personalities.

He also had no previous record of any misdemeanor.

Resuma is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
