BIR-Capiz sets P1.23-B tax goal

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) -Revenue District Office No. 72 targets to collect P1.2375 – billion in taxes provincewide this year.

“The year 2021 tax campaign has just started and the district is once again tasked to meet and to exceed this year’s goal,” said BIR RDO No. 72 head Eralen De Aro.

She added that the RDO has devised various strategies to surpass the 2021 collection target.

These include monitoring activities of online business owners for potential tax revenues, conduct webinars for new business registrants, conduct of tax campaign verification drive and continue the tax amnesty on delinquent accounts considering the deadline was extended to June 30, 2021, among others.

“With the taxpayers and BIR working hand in hand, any target or goal will be easily achieved,” De Aro stressed.

Last year, the RDO here has collected P1,175,932,464.86 or 27.91 percent higher than its P919,313,000.00 tax goal for the period despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

The taxes collected are being used to fund the plans and programs of the government.
