BACOLOD City – Police Colonel Henry Biñas, director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) said that Police Lieutenant Colonel Jovie Espenido, deputy city director for operations of BCPO, can help neutralize the Ozamis robbery group.

Biñas said he believed that Espenido can help track down Ozamis robbery group leader Marlon Parojinog since the controversial policeman came from Ozamis City before he was recently assigned to Bacolod.

Over the weekend, one of the five armed robbers who was arrested for the P100-million jewelry heist in Mandaue, Cebu admitted his participation in the jewelry heist here last August.

Biñas said Espenido had connections in Ozamis City which can help them find other members involved in the jewelry heist here.

Two months ago, the members of Ozamis robbery group who are also identified to be part of “Martilyo Gang” barged in Gaisano City Grand Mall here and robbed two jewelry stores with P4.5 million worth of jewelry.

Two weeks after the jewelry heist, police filed robbery charges before the City Prosecutor’s Office against Marlon Parojinog, Kenneth Bonon, and Philip Bonn Rabanes, all residents of Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental, and nine John Does.

Biñas said that they will exploit all available information to trace the whereabouts of those involved in the Gaisano mall robbery here.

Biñas said charges will also be filed against one of the five arrested robbers in Cebu who is also involved in the Bacolod mall robbery.
