Team Big Roys by Robejes Wonders and the Fueled Wings squad notched big wins during another scheduled double-header in the ongoing Iloilo City Basketball Club (ICBC) annual basketball tournament second conference.

Big Roys outdueled team Alvin’s Fitness Center during the first game, 74-68, while team Fueled Wings got the better of Clinica dental Dela Llana, 79-69.

It was a heavyweight clash between Big Roys and Alvin’s as two of the best teams in the league figured in a nip-and-tuck showdown.

Team Big Roys took control of the early tempo of the game as their well-orchestrated plays led to several open three-pointers.

However, Alvin’s always delivered huge responses and cut Big Roys’ lead to two points a couple of times but the trio of John Rey Madulin, Roed Golez, and Dexter Lacanaria helped restore order for Big Roys.

Big Roys used their timely three-point shooting to extinguish Alvin’s momentum every time they made a run including a crucial one in the last three minutes of the ball game.

Just when Alvin’s started to re-impose their will, Lacanaria’s clutch three-pointers in the last two minutes helped Big Roys clinch a five-point lead and helped his team notch the momentum in the final stretch.

Madulin was once again the Player of the Game after dropping 21 big points backstopped by Golez with 19 and Lacanaria with 14.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Fueled Wings banked on their collective effort to fend off team Clinica.

Aside from their efficient offense, one factor that also helped Fueled Wings grab the victory is their patient defensive schemes that halted Clinica’s scoring in the final canto.

Ron Cambas was Fueled Wings’ main gunner after another stellar night of 25 points while Clinica had 30 points from Danreb Rey.
