BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is gathering information from three “persons of interest” in the brutal killing of a businessman here last Dec 2.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, BCPO public information officer, said that these persons could either be a source of information or can lead them to other persons who can identify the real suspects who gunned down Ontao Sacar recently.

But Pico said police gathered “very limited” information from the trio during the investigation.

“There has been no significant information from them as of now,” he added.

Meanwhile, Pico said that Police Stations 2 and 3, and the Investigation and Detection Management Section (IDMS) of the BCPO are conducting joint investigation to identify the perpetrators who abducted and killed Sacar, 66.

On Dec 3, Sacar was found dead at Barangay Mandalagan, a day after he was abducted by three unidentified armed men at Barangay 8.

Pico said they are still eyeing the same angles behind his death, citing drug-related, personal, and business.

Pico earlier said that Sacar had previously surrendered to the police through Oplan Tokhang last year.

Tokhang is the PNP’s cornerstone campaign against illegal drugs.

“We are still trying to dig deeper to check if there’s a cover-up when it comes to his business or other personal matters which could trigger the killing,” he said.
