BCPO nets P1-M ‘shabu’ in January

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized 147.0788 grams of illegal drugs worth P1,000,135.84 from Jan. 1 to 31.

Based on the record of the BCPO, 35 police operations resulted in the apprehension of 37 drug personalities, including a high-value individual (HVI), two newly-identified individuals, and 34 street-level individuals (SLI).

A total of 43 cases were filed in court for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In the campaign against wanted persons, the city police force conducted 64 police operations and arrested 17 most wanted persons (MWP) and 47 other wanted persons charged with various offenses.

In the campaign against loose firearms, 16 operations resulted in the arrest of one violator, and the confiscation of two homemade firearms.

A case for violation of RA 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Law was already filed.

For anti-illegal gambling, 17 operations were conducted while 60 individuals were arrested. A total of 17 cases have been filed in court.

Police Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, BCPO director, lauded the operating units and its personnel for their continuous effort to lessen criminality here.
