BACOLOD City – A total of 2,266 persons were arrested for violating the curfew hours here while the city was under a community quarantine from March 17 to May 15, 2020.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Lester Leada, head of the operations branch of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), told Daily Guardian that 161 persons were arrested under the General Community Quarantine from March 17 to March 29, while 2,105 violators were apprehended during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) from March 30 to May 15.
Based on the BCPO records, the top five villages with more than 100 arrested violators in almost two months were Barangays Mansilingan with 361; Banago, 217; Taculing, 181; Villamonte, 174; Sum-ag, 148; and Barangay 2, 113.
Villages with no curfew violators were Barangays 20, 23, 27, 29, 41, and Alangilan.
The city government implemented curfew to all residents here from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day since March 17 to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
These violators who were caught loitering outside their residences, some with no quarantine passes, will be facing appropriate charges for violating the city’s community quarantine protocols.
