BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is looking into some personalities who were possibly behind the robbery incidents here.
Police Colonel Henry Biñas, BCPO director, said they already have persons of interest but refused to provide specific details about them while the investigation is ongoing.
Biñas said that these persons are part of an organized robbery group or a drug group.
Two robbery cases perpetrated by unidentified armed men on board a sports utility vehicle occurred at Barangays Villamonte and Estefania last week, and Barangay Tangub last month.
Police are considering the possibility that the same perpetrators were behind the three incidents.
He said the perpetrators are committing these cases to reportedly divert their attention, instead of focusing on their intensified anti-drug war.
“Daw modus na abi nila para ma focus kami sa kinawatay,” he said.
He reiterated his directive to all 10 station commanders to strengthen their visibility patrol to prevent the same incident.
Meanwhile, John John Ino, 29, of Barangay Banago here was arrested last Saturday after he was allegedly caught inside a pharmacy at Barangay Mansilingan.
Police records showed that Ino allegedly entered the pharmacy by detaching the roof and destroying its ceiling but he was detected by the alarm system.
A security guard caught him and turned him over to the police.
Recovered from Ino were a backpack containing a homemade firearm loaded with live ammunition of 12 gauge shotgun, two pairs of scissors, a cutter, and P4,755 cash.
In Negros Occidental, a coal terminal was robbed by two unidentified armed men at Barangay Tinampa-an, Cadiz City last Friday.
Police records showed that a 30-year-old security guard was allegedly disarmed, threatened at gunpoint, and hogtied.
The armed robbers allegedly carted away cash amounting to P16,000, the guard’s service firearm, handheld radio, uniform, and a pair of black shoes.
