Bakhaw resident nabbed in drug sting in Molo

By Jennifer P. Rendon

A resident of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation shortly after midnight of Feb 7, 2023.

But the 44-year-old Jordan Alba was not arrested on his home turf. Instead, he allegedly agreed to trade drugs at Barangay Taal, Molo district.

Members of the Iloilo City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO-CDEU) and the Iloilo City Police Station 5 collared Alba after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P20,000.

After his arrest, police recovered three sachets of suspected shabu with a standard price of P95,200.

According to reports, the suspect is considered a high-value individual (HVI). He was netted after three weeks of surveillance operation.

Alba allegedly sourced his supply from Metro Manila.

Meanwhile, the suspect denied that he was into the illegal drug trade but admitted that he used to be a drug user.

He was arrested in a drug-related case in 2017 but was released in 2019 after availing of the plea-bargaining agreement.

Alba is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
