Bacolod’s ‘Patient No. 3’ dies from complications

BACOLOD City – Bacolod City’s third coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patient has passed away Sunday.

Dr. Grace Tan, spokesperson of the City Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19, said the 40-year-old patient passed away due to complications brought by the virus.

Based on the medical bulletin issued by doctors, “Patient No. 3” suffered from Cardiogenic Shock due to Fatal Arrhythmia.

The antecedent cause is CVD infarction, Right Middle Cerebral Artery, Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy, his medical record indicated.

He was admitted March 19, 2020 and was de-isolated April 10, 2020 after two negative RT-PCR tests and clearing of chest x-ray.

He expired after six weeks of hospital confinement.

Tan earlier said that the patient had already tested negative for the virus and was even declared “clinically recovered.”

“Patient No. 3” is the third patient to die from the virus in the city following the death of his 62-year-old mother (“Patient No. 6”) and 69-year-old (“Patient No. 8”) who passed away on April 9.
