Bacolod has new fire marshal

BACOLOD City – Chief Inspector Stephen Jardeleza is the new fire marshal of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) here.

The turnover of command led by Chief Superintendent Jerry Candido, BFP-6 director, was held at the BFP-6 regional office in Iloilo City on Monday, March 27.

Jardeleza, who was a provincial fire marshal in Guimaras, replaced Chief Inspector Rodel Legaspi here.

Legaspi was reassigned as provincial fire marshal of Negros Occidental, replacing Superintendent Kim Celisio who was moved to Iloilo as provincial fire marshal.

Aside from the three, nine other officers and personnel also took their new unit assignments effective March 23, pursuant to Special Order Number REA-2023-060 and Regional Order Number REA 2023-03-26.

This is to make the BFP officers well-rounded in the diverse functions of the agency through harmonious rotation and to enhance professionalism and organizational effectiveness in the Bureau.

The BFP said that commissioned officers are being reshuffled every two years or depending on the situation or the exigency of service.

Also in attendance during the turnover rites were BFP-6 key officials – Senior Superintendent Bartolome Beliran, regional chief of staff, Senior Superintendent Eden Altamia-Baua, assistant regional director for operations, and Senior Superintendent Lester Kenneth Gimotea, assistant regional director for administration.
