Bacolod has 46 designated firecrackers zone

BACOLOD City – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has identified 46 designated community firecracker zones here.

In a list provided to the media yesterday, these areas included open spaces, basketball courts, covered courts, and vacant lots, among others depending on the specifications given by the BFP in various villages here.

The BFP noted that its role is to respond to any untoward incident that may occur during the conduct of fireworks display.

The agency reminded the public to be cautious while celebrating New Year to avoid fire incidents, accidents, and other injuries.

The BFP said they will conduct firetruck visibility and deploy personnel on standby for quick response to any untoward incident here.

Eleven firetrucks from the BFP-Bacolod central office, and sub-stations in Lopez Jaena, Rodriguez, Libertad, Granada, Mansilingan, Sum-ag, and Pahanocoy, will be on standby.

Six personnel will be deployed per firetruck at the central office, while three personnel per firetruck will be deployed in each sub-station.

The BFP said they will also have a standby firetruck and personnel at the firecrackers/fireworks exhibition area.

These areas included the Retailers Avenue at Pope John Paul II tower in Reclamation area, Barangay 12; Bacolod City Government Center; Stonehill Hotel grounds, and Seda Hotel rooftop.
