BACOLOD City – The Army’s 62nd Infantry Battalion (IB) paid respects to a member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary (CAA) who was killed by members of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental last month.

The soldiers afforded full military honors last Sunday to Joselito Raboy, who was assigned to the Patrol Base in Barangay Quintin Remo.

Raboy was off duty and was riding his motorcycle when he was waylaid and shot by the perpetrators at Barangay Montilla on Sept. 24, 2022.

The NPA claimed the killing in a press statement released on Oct. 2, the day that Raboy was laid to rest at a public cemetery in Barangay Poblacion 4.

According to the Army, Raboy “served as a dedicated CAFGU of Quintin Remo patrol base, who helped maintain peace and order in the community against NPA’s alleged threats and extortion.”

He was a law-abiding citizen and a good father to his wife and three young children, the Army said.

The 62nd IB, in close coordination with the local police, is working on filing a criminal case against the perpetrators to bring justice to Raboy’s family.
