Another BPO firm set to open in Iloilo City

Another business process outsourcing (BPO) firm is set to open in Iloilo City in the middle of March providing more job opportunities for Ilonggos.

TELUS International Philippines Inc., one of the leading BPO companies in the country, will open the first-ever site outside Metro Manila in Mandurriao district in Iloilo City.

The company will bring in 1,000 job opportunities to Ilonggos, according to Mayor Jerry Treñas.

Treñas said the BPO firm is a huge help to cushion the economic impact brought about by the pandemic in Iloilo City by offering jobs to Ilonggos who were severely affected by the pandemic.

“Many of our residents had lost their jobs due to the pandemic, and we are very happy to see that a lot of industries expressed their interest in investing in the city. This will help cope with the effects of the decline of the economy,” he said in his Facebook page.

TELUS International Philippines Inc. has five locations across the country with over 12,000 employees, according to website Outsource Accelerator. Its parent organization, TELUS International, has over 50,000 employees worldwide.

The company has offices in Quezon City, Pasig City, Makati City and two operation centers in Taguig City.
