BACOLOD City – A man who was allegedly involved in a stabbing incident here last Sunday was found dead three days later at Purok Sto. Niño, Barangay 31 here last Wednesday.

Police Major Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 6, identified the fatality as Fritz Eric Poncejan, 34, of Barangay 27 here.

Estopa said Poncejan’s decomposing body was found in a river around 9 p.m. He was identified by his cousin and brother.

Estopa said that Poncejan was believed wounded when he fled during a commotion in Barangay 31 on Dec. 19, wherein he was one of the two alleged suspects in a stabbing incident.

“Possible bala dira siya sa area nanghina kay may pilas daw siya pag palagyo niya,” he added.

Estopa said that Poncejan had a misunderstanding with a person in the said village last Sunday when a man tried to pacify them but the latter was stabbed instead.

The victim of the weekend stabbing incident is still confined at a hospital.

Estopa said that Poncejan suffered a head injury at that time but it was not determined what caused the injury. His unidentified companion in the stabbing incident remains at large.
