Alex Eala, the Filipina teen tennis sensation who took the Juniors international scene by storm, will receive the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Tony Siddayao award together with other promising young Filipino athletes who represented the Philippines in various sports.

Eala will be joined by nine other promising athletes to receive the award on March 6, at the Centennial Hall of the Manila Hotel.

From being the world no. 9 to being the first Filipina included in the top 5 international ranking of the ITF Juniors, Eala’s stardom has spread across all borders, also having received the precious Rafael Nadal tennis academy.

The award was named after Antonio “Tony” Siddayao, the former Manila Standard sports editor and was considered as the Dean of Philippine sports writing.

Those deserving of the award are kids who had sports accolades under 17-years of age may it be dominating nationally or internationally.

Age-group swimmers Micaela Mojdeh and Marc Bryant Dula, bowling standouts Dale Lazo and Jordan Dinham, karatedo’s Juan Miguel Sebastian, powerlifter Jessa Mae Tabuan, Woman FIDE master Antonella Racasa, golfer Celine Abalos, and Eala’s older brother, Michael Eala, will be completing the list of the awardees.
