Agatha Wong dominated and ruled the Wushu event in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, giving the PH another gold medal.

Coming into the competition with high expectations from the whole SEA community as the defending champion, Wong remained focused on her game plan.

With her concentration set firmly on giving a flawless performance rather than earning another gold, the mentality that Wong had helped her defend her title and add another gold to PH’s medal tally.

Notching a 9.67 score in the final round, Wong barely won over Brunei’s Basma Lachkar who tallied 9.55 to garner silver, while Vietnam’s Thi Minh Huyen Tran earned the bronze medal with a score of 9.53.

“I didn’t expect anything, maski na they’ve written articles about me na parang, double-gold standard. I’m really happy na I delivered the gold, and I have no regrets for today,” said Wong.
