4 Iloilo towns start implementing CBMS

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Iloilo, in partnership with the local government units

(LGUs) of Batad, Bingawan, Mina, and San Rafael in Iloilo are currently conducting the 2022 Community Based Monitoring System (CMBS).

The CBMS is one of the key data collection activities that will enable the generation of more locally disaggregated statistics essential for targeting the poor and vulnerable in the country as well as for the use in local policymaking and program implementation.

CMBS is an organized technology-based system of collecting, processing, and validating necessary disaggregated data that may be used for planning, program, implementation, and impact monitoring at the local level while empowering communities to participate in the process.

This captures various aspects of quality of life in the cities and municipalities particularly in health, nutrition, housing, water and sanitation, basic education, income, employment, and peace and order.

CBMS operation started on August 23 in Mina, Bingawan, and San Rafael, while Batad started the next day, August 24.

A total of 113 personnel were hired to enumerate a total of 69 barangays in the 4 municipalities, wherein 35 barangays will be funded by PSA, while the remaining 34 barangays are funded by the LGUs. The operation is expected to end on October 6, 2022.

PSA-Iloilo disseminated the information about CBMS through their official Facebook Page account (Philippine Statistics Authority-Iloilo).

Officer-In-Charge Supervising Statistical Specialist Jerry L. Dolutan requests the support and participation of the public for this undertaking.
