ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Three towns of Capiz province earned the 2019 Seal of Good Governance (SGLG) from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The recipients are the towns of Dao, Dumarao, and Jamindan.

Mayor Mac Arthur Baldemar said he was happy that for the first time Jamindan town was included in the prestigious award.

He said the town hurdled key criteria such as good financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business friendliness and competitiveness, and environmental protection, and tourism, culture and art.

The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) originated from the Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH). It is the DILG’s response to the clamor of the people for integrity and performance in public service.

SGLG challenges local governments to continue good governance practices while providing better public services.

It also symbolizes integrity and good performance of local governments. It is a continuing challenge for provincial, city, and municipal governments to do better today and in the years to come.
