28 motorbikes for cops; 18 for traffic aides

THE Iloilo City Government will be giving an additional 28 motorcycles to Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).

The City Hall will also give 18 motorcycles to traffic aides under the Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO).

Mayor Jerry P. Treñas turned over after Monday flag ceremony at Plaza Libertad two motorcycles to ICPO.

The units were received by ICPO director, Police Col. Martin E. Defensor Jr.; and Lt. Col. Efren Lozada, chief of Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Unit of ICPO.

The vehicles will improve police mobility and visibility in responding to urgent situations, maintaining peace and order and securing the public, making the metropolis safe and livable to locals and visitors alike.

Treñas also gave a Certificate of Recognition to Defensor.

ICPO was awarded Outstanding City Police Office of the Year in the field of Police Community Relations (PCR) during the culmination of the 24th PCR Month in Camp Crame, Quezon City July 29.

The citation stated that such commendable feat is a manifestation of ICPO’s dedication to its efforts in fostering police-community relations, empowering the community and strengthening partnership and fellowship with stakeholders through its community-oriented activities and programs.
