27 NPA members in WV yield in 3rd quarter

Twenty-seven down, more to go.

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) said on Thursday that more members of the members of Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) are expected to yield following the surrender of 27 rebels to the different police units in Western Visayas.

They laid down their arms and left the movement in the 3rd quarter of 2022.

PRO-6 records showed that Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) posted the most number of surrenderees at 19.

On the other hand, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office has 4; Negros Occidental PPO with 2; and Antique PPO and Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit 6 with 1 each.

Several surrenderers also turned over their armaments.

Yielded were three homemade rifle shotguns, two fragmentation grenades, an upper receiver of 7.62 bolt action, and a caliber .38 pistol.

Brigadier General Leo Francisco, Western Visayas police chief, said the former rebels were members of Kilusang Rehiyong Panay KR-P, Tumandok Organization, Negros Cebu-Bohol-Sequijor (SWF, KR NCBS), Gabriela-Aklan and Igabon Platoon.

Furthermore, all of them underwent debriefing and they will be validated/processed to avail of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program or ECLIP program of the Government for our rebel returnees.
