RC Bacolod, fire volunteers bring help to ‘Odette’ survivors

The Rotary Club of Bacolod and Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade brought aid to Typhoon Odette survivors in the cities of Bago and Himamaylan and municipality of Binalbagan in Negros Occidental on Jan 22, 2022.

The relief operations were held at Barangays Ma-ao in Bago City, San Pedro and Payao and Don Angel Locsin Memorial School in Binalbagan and Purok Aglahug, Barangay Mahalang in Himamaylan City.

Around 10,000 liters of drinking water; 1,400 of rice, food and grocery packs; and vitamins were handed out to the survivors.

Leading the activity were Life Changing President Pauline Cuaycong, Past District Governor Edgar Sy, Past President and Club Secretary Frederick Anthony de Leon, Past President Jose Glenn de Guzman, Club Director Marjorie Dino, Rotarian Edlyn Agraviador, and the Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade led by PDG Edgar Sy.

Also present were Bago City Councilor Jones Soncio, the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management office, Barangay Captains led by Dionito Gahaton, Manfredo Cesar, Vincent Tan, and Ms. Caroline Lopez; School principal Gina Tortal-Sabio and teacher volunteers, Himamaylan CSWD officer EG Castro, Ms. Fatima Alforte of DSWD, Ermin Esmandol of City Link, members of the Philippine Army’s 94IB, Barangay Officials, Barangay Health workers and volunteers.
