2 teenage motorcycle riders killed, pal hurt after crashing into bridge

BACOLOD City – Two male teenagers died while their companion was wounded after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a bridge in Barangay Asia, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental last Tuesday.

Killed in the accident were backriders Romel Traya,18, and a 17-year-old boy whose name was withheld, both residents of Barangay Pook.

Wounded was the 17-year-old motorcycle driver, whose name was also withheld.

Police Major John Ganzon, town police chief, said the victims were on their way to Barangay Bulwangan, when they hit a gutter.

Ganzon said their motorcycle then swerved and crashed into the railings of a bridge.

“Ga ulan abi kag danlog dalan, nawad-an sila siguro control,” he added.

The three victims were not wearing helmets. The two slain victims were thrown off the motorcycle while the driver was stuck on the motorcycle.

The two backriders died on the spot due to severe injuries, while the driver was referred to a hospital here.
