2 shot dead in Roxas City

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Two persons were shot dead in two separate incidents Sunday evening here.

Edward Rolio, 21, of Bayot Drive was gunned down while urinating in the dark portion near their house.

Investigation by the Roxas City police indicated that Rolio was with his friend to buy barbecue on Roxas Avenue. As he took a leak, an unidentified person on a motorcycle suddenly arrived and shot victim.

Rolio was hit on his abdomen, waist, hand, and chest. He tried to flee and hide but he fell to the ground. The suspect immediately fled on board on his motorcycle.

The victim was died at Capiz Emmanuel Hospital.

Police recovered from the crime scene empty shells of .45-caliber ammunitions.

Retaliation is eyed as a motive in the incident since the victim had been accused of causing trouble in their place.

Meanwhile, another man was shot dead by his neighbor during a funeral wake at Sitio Ilaya in Barangay Dingina here.

Police identified the victim as Gallardo Antinquinia while the suspect was Charlie Dela Cruz.

The two were playing cards when they suddenly argued.

Bystanders pacified and asked them to go home. But Dela Cruz returned with a shotgun and challenged Antinquinia to a fight.

The suspect then shot the victim on the chest.

Antinquinia was declared dead at the hospital while Dela Cruz was arrested in a hot pursuit operation and presently detained at the Roxas City police station.
