12-hour power outage on Feb 12 due to NGCP works

A scheduled 12-hour power interruption will be experienced in several barangays of Iloilo City on Sunday, Feb. 12.

The outage is due to preventive maintenance works of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) from 6 AM until 6 PM.

The areas affected by the outage requested by the NGCP are under the coverage of MORE Electric and Power Corp.

NGCP will shut down the 100 megavolt-ampere (MVA) Transformer No.1 and High Voltage Equipment at its Iloilo Substation, affecting MORE Power’s feeder in City Proper, Molo, and Lapaz.

The NGCP, which manages the transmission lines from power producers to distribution utilities and electric cooperatives, vowed to “exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled.”

MORE Power said in an advisory on Thursday that it shall take advantage of the scheduled interruption by commissioning its 30/36 MVA Mobile Substation at the Molo Substation to pave the way for the latter’s full rehabilitation.

The outage will affect the following areas at designated times:

From 6 AM to 6 PM

– City Proper Substation

– Whole of Molo Feeder 2

– Whole of Molo Feeder 3

– Whole of Molo Feeder 5

– Portion of Molo Feeder 4

– Whole of Brgy. North San Jose

– Whole of Brgy. North Avancena

From 6 AM to 8 AM, Lapaz Feeder 1 will be affected by the outage. Meanwhile, Molo Feeder 4 will be out of power from 6 AM to 6:10 AM and 5:50 PM to 6 PM.
